After two rounds of verification and screening by the Bangladesh and Malaysian governments , 338 recruiting agencies have been approved to send Bangladeshi workers to the Malaysian labor market . Several leaders of Bayra have alleged that there is a conspiracy to rehabilitate old pro -Awami League interest groups behind the ongoing movement led byformer Bayra leader Riaz - Fakhrul Gong over the issue .
The complainants claim that in the last 17 years , some leaders of Bayara, known as Awami League supporters , have amassed huge fortunes by taking unethical advantage in the Malaysian labor market . Individuals and organizations that have been identified in the past for their involvement in visa trading and controversial recruitment processes havebeen excluded from the new system . As a result, the opportunities for re-establishing the old business structure have been narrowed , the concerned parties claim .
They further alleged that some individuals and groups who benefited in the past were planning to re -trade visas worth crores of taka using the money smuggled abroad . However, the implementation of that plan has become difficult due to the introduction of a new recruitment process through 25 licenses and 338 selected agencies . This is why the complainants claim that agitations , campaigns and various programs are being taken against the current system . Apart from the 25 recruiting agencies and 338 associate agencies, the Awami League group has started buying visas in Malaysia. On one hand, they are agitating in the country , on the other hand, they are generally extorting money from people in the name of issuing visas. They have already extorted crores of taka.
Some of this group have met with some fugitive leaders of the fallen Awami League in India. This Awami syndicate is providing them with visas by purchasing them from Malaysia.
Another businessman named Akbar Hossain Manju of Akbar Enterprises is working as one of the associates of the Fakrul-Riyaz gang. He regularly hosts parties at the Bengal Blueberry Hotel in Gulshan, the capital. All anti-government conspiracies are conducted from there. Several former leaders of Bayra said that unless punitive action is taken against the Akbar, Fakrul, and Riaz gangs, the conspiracy regarding the Malaysian labor market will not stop. Bayra leaders have also requested intelligence surveillance at Bengal Blueberry.
Questions surrounding India visit
Meanwhile , questions have also been raised about the multiple visits to India in the last six months by some former BIA leaders who led the movement . BIA leaders claim that these visits are linked to the ongoing movement centered on the Malaysian labor market . The matter needs to be investigated .
The complainants further claim that a section of pro -Awami League Baira leaders , on the advice of Awami League leaders residing abroad , are trying to create instability in the labor market with the aim of tarnishing the image of the current government and the Expatriates' Welfare Ministry . They do not want workers to enter the country legally and increase the flow of remittances into the country.
However, no independently verified evidence has been made public to support these allegations so far . It is also necessary to know the statements of the Bayra leaders who led the movement and their positions on the allegations . A more detailed report on this issue will be published once the statements of the concerned are received .
The Malaysian labor market is very important for Bangladeshi overseas employment . Therefore, stakeholders have demanded that the recruitment process be conducted with transparency , accountability, and prioritizing the interests of workers, above political or business interests .
In response to questions from journalists at a press conference held at the National Press Club on Monday, Baira leader Abdul Gafur Bhuiyan and other leaders admitted to the conspiracy of fugitive Awami League leaders. They said that labor market instability is being created with the black money smuggled by Awami League leaders. The victims of which will be ordinary workers.
